Gill started her professional life as a secondary teacher, rising quickly into senior leadership roles after a detour into the life insurance and recruitment industries. She developed specialities in educational innovation, change management and teacher development, leading start-up and turnaround projects in Victorian schools.

Australian Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012, Anthony Podesta, selected Gill to join his company McMillan Shakespeare Australia in the late 1990s. As Manager Organisational Development, she worked directly with Anthony on greenfields business projects as well as the HR requirements of a business in rapid growth mode.

In the 2000s Gill moved into the public sector, applying a commercial focus to catalyse lasting changes in strategic business focus, workplace culture and stakeholder relationship management. The roles she performed included Senior Advisor to the Commissioner for Public Employment in Victoria; Manager Organisational Development for the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance; and interim appointments as Manager Culture and People, City of Onkaparinga and Director Organisational Development at La Trobe University.

Recurring themes of Gill’s work have been: strategic improvement projects; workplace culture enhancement; coaching to improve confidence, performance and teamwork at all levels; and building organisational capability. She is highly regarded for her professionalism, drive to achieve quality outcomes, innovative thinking and ability to tailor what she does to suit a particular organisational context.

A published writer, Gill has completed post-graduate studies at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. She holds qualifications in Arts, Education, Educational Administration, Media Studies and Professional Counselling. She is a Director of The Clarendon Group Pty. Ltd., an HR consultancy of nearly 20 years standing. Through The Clarendon Group, Gill has provided pro bono and contracted support for not-for-profit organisations, including The Mirabel Foundation and McKillop Family Services in Victoria.

Her proven versatility, credibility and impact can be applied broadly to improve individual, team and organisational effectiveness, through offerings such as:
