Bio:Rebecca Knol is the Chief Executive Officer of the South Australian Chamber of Mines (SACOME), the peak body for the resources sector in South Australia. The Chamber represents minerals, extractive, oil & gas, energy and service supply companies.
Rebecca has significant national and international experience in the mining, oil & gas sectors where she has found innovative solutions to complex problems and led best practice initiatives to improve performance both in staff positions and as a consultant.
Previous roles include National Manager for Major Projects with Origin Energy where she was responsible for the regulatory approvals of renewables and gas projects in Australia & New Zealand; Manager, HSE & External Relations with AngloGold Ashanti in Africa. Immediately prior to her current role Rebecca founded and managed an educational consultancy.
Rebecca is leading a repositioning of SACOME in delivering value to members through policy and advocacy leadership, initiatives such as the Australia’s first cross sectoral electricity purchasing group (- now approved by the ACCC) and promoting the dialogue between members and leaders across the sector.
Rebecca holds Masters degrees in Business and Environmental Science and is a Churchill Fellow.
