behind closed doors Financial Education For Women (FEW) Program aims to help build the financial capability of women to ensure greater economic security for both women and their families, now and into the future. The program educates women, seeking to improve their financial knowledge to understand and negotiate the financial landscape, manage money and financial risks effectively, and avoid financial pitfalls.

Why do so many women LOVE this program…

If I were truthful, I was initially hesitant to register and commit to Financial Education for Women (FEW); I thought the investment was a lot. However, having completed FEW, I can honestly say this course was the best investment I could have ever made – by way of investing in myself and my future. Karen and Marissa (and other course educators) were so knowledgeable and willing to ensure that all participants were both comfortable and understood each module. They also made themselves available in between sessions/modules for offline discussions and still do. At all times, I felt safe within the ‘group’ sharing my money matters; in fact, knowing I was not alone when it came to better understanding and managing money matters made me feel at ease. I no longer guess where I am spending my money – I know. I am also way more confident when making the ‘big’ money decisions or merely talking about money. As I learned things throughout each of the modules, I implemented them. As a result, I refinanced my mortgage, reviewed my spending habits (cutting out frivolous spending), and revisited my super/utilities and health cover. With the savings (estimated $5k over 12 months), I set up a regular deposit into a savings ‘offset’ account. I have not looked back since doing this course; I only wish I had done it earlier! Donny for organising, and to Karen and Marissa for educating me, because I now have the knowledge and confidence to understand better how to make my hard-earned money work for me – THANK YOU!

Going into this program I thought I knew what I needed to focus on and what I had a strong handle on, but this was not the case at all and what it proved was that there is always something to learn, improve and raise your awareness in areas that you would not have otherwise looked into! Marissa and Karen, openly shared their expertise with us whilst stretching our beliefs and awareness on all matters financial and more importantly held us and continue to holds us accountable - beyond the program. The journey is at times, emotional and exhausting but so worthwhile despite your financial awareness and position. The small intimate group of like minded women provides a safe and supporting environment led by experienced facilitators, who share key tools that will see future attendees continue to utilise and build their financial awareness and more importantly financial security and independence. My only key reflection to future attendees is to get the most of this program, is to be open and committed to the Program and you will be amazed at how much you will absorb and the learnings are instant! And you will be on an improved financial journey immediately despite your current position.
