Maria Eliadis
Maria is a dynamic professional with over 35 years’ experience working collaboratively to explore innovative ways of tackling complex challenges and realising exciting opportunities in the Community, Professional Associations and Tertiary Education sectors.
As a coach, trainer and facilitator Maria’s work focuses on supporting people to stop spinning their wheels. Maria supports people to get the traction they need to move forward, to grow, to achieve their goals. The cornerstones of her approach are problem analysis, raising self-awareness, building emotional resilience, strengthening adaptive practices and championing innovative thinking.
Maria is an alumnus (2011) of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government program ‘The Art and Practice of Leadership Development’ which teaches the practices and principles of Adaptive Leadership. She is also certified as a Brain-Based Coach with the NeuroLeadership Institute and accredited as a VDI developmental coach with the Vertical Development Institute.
Maria’s adaptive leadership programs use real life situations to apply adaptive leadership principles and practices in a safe yet robust learning environment. Participants are encouraged to apply different ‘lenses’ to situations to gain insight and inspiration to explore new ways of thinking and try new ways of approaching challenges. Offered to teams the programs supports the development of shared language and practices to work productively and safely together.
Brain-Based Coaching is informed by neuroscience, and all tools and techniques have been tested with corporations around the world. BBC supports coachees to stay solutions focused and provides guidance to overcome blocks and barriers to achieving desired goals.
VDI developmental coaching uses dialogue to unlock resources for growth and change. The coach creates a safe space for the coachee to inquire, explore and stretch their thinking, and builds individuals’ capacities for creatively seeking solutions within complex environments and better dealing with change and ambiguity.
As well as Maria’s coaching and leadership development work, she is co-founder of two innovative social enterprises – the Australian Institute of CPD Standards (AIcpdS) and B-HART. She is currently a Director and the Company Secretary at AIcpdS.
Maria’s pro bono work focuses on supporting people with disability to recognise and claim their human rights in their everyday activities.
